WORKOUT
Keeping up with Mayor Kathy Taylor during her morning workout.
WHAT IT IS
Taylor's schedule is very busy, so she works out at home.
WHEN YOU CAN GO
Sorry, just showing up for a workout at Taylor's home gym is not an option. But you can keep up with her and help Tulsa reach the million mile mark by joining tulsamillionmiles.com and logging your miles of exercise. For the record, Taylor has logged more than 460 miles and FGP has logged 450.
IT'S BEST FOR
Anone who claims they're too busy to work out — if the mayor can make time, probably you can, too.
GEAR NEEDED

FITNESS GUINEA PIG SAYS
You may have your own personal and political opinions of her, but Mayor Kathy Taylor let FGP work out in her home gym and gave her a glass of orange juice, so she's FGP's new best friend.
True, only in her guinea pig mind, but they are both current and former Tulsa Run celebrity runners, they both love Greek yogurt and both are interested in running the Disney Princess Half Marathon next year (ha, crown jokes from the peanut gallery, very funny).
Taylor is a busy little bee in her home gym (yes, it's posh — read tulsaworld.com/fitnessguineablog if you want more details).
"I have workout ADD," she says. She buzzes from the treadmill to the elliptical to the rowing machine, back to the treadmill, then onto some strength and balance exercises. She's always been into fitness, but her Tulsa Run training last year sort of brought her a new focus, and after reading "Younger Next Year," she's super motivated.
"Basically, it says if you're not working out six days a week after age 50, you're toast," she says.
Yes, it's hard running a city and also finding time to run, but the exercise — especially the cardio — helps her relieve stress, she says.
And she's counting on Tulsans to help her reach that million mile mark, so get going.
